Telangana to spend Rs 2 crore to set up India’s largest national flag

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will unveil the flag on June 2, second anniversary of the state’s formation.
 The Telangana state government will spend about Rs 2 crore to set up India’s biggest national Flag on the tallest pole at Sanjeevaiah Park close by the Hussainsagar.

Cheif Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will unveil the flag on June 2, second anniversary of the state’s Formation. The legislature has authorized Rs 1.96 crore for the task. The Rs 1.32 crore contract to introduce the flag has been recompensed to the Kolkata-based Skipper Construction Company. Whatever remains of the cash will be spent on common works.

For the time being, the 66-feet by 99-feet flag which remains on a 293-feet pole at Ranchi holds the record. The CM has guided authorities to set up a taller post than the one at Ranchi, at 303 feet. The number (3+3) adds to Mr Rao’s fortunate number six.

The obligation of managing the works has been depended to the streets and structures division.

R&B chief secretary Sunil Sharma said, “There are four parts in this anticipate. The real work is development of the 303-feet pole, and alternate segments incorporate development of the column base and other common works. We are expecting to finish the venture in two weeks.”
