Even though the poster was impressive, there was a doubt in the minds of the public that which role Samantha is playing in Mahanati. Keerthy Suresh has already exposed in her earlier meetings that she is going to perform Savitri role.

According to reports, Samantha going to shock the viewers with her role. She is performing the role of yesteryear actress Jamuna in the movie. The purpose behind this is said to be that Savitri and Jamuna said to have differences with each other in real life.
