Devastating Cyclone Hudhud has not only caused damage worth thousands of crores in Visakhapatnam but also brought huge losses to film industry , especially the Daggubati family.
The Daggubati family owns Ramanaidu studio in 33-acre land on Visakha-Bheemili beach road, Located atop an imposing hill, encircled by verdant environs and facing the shimmering, blue waters of Bay of Bengal which was inaugurated by late Chief minister YS.Rajashekar Reddy.
After Hudhud hit Vizag, The studio has turned dead place for work , all the trees in the studio premises have been uprooted, the rooftops are blown away, windowpanes shattered, furniture wrecked beyond repair, twisted electric poles and shooting sets including court, police station, middle class house & main floor have been severely affected.
Apart this, Daggubati Suresh owns good number of theaters in North-coastal region (Uttar Andhra), Most of the theatres have been badly damaged. Many of the roofs have been blown away , glass panes shattered and seats have also been damaged. Theatres are unlikely to re-open in the region anytime soon.
