Tanielu “Daniel” Ekuale (born January 13, 1994) is an American Samoan professional American football nose tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 300 pounds, Ekuale has built a reputation as a reliable run-stuffer and rotational defensive lineman across four NFL franchises. He played college football for the Washington State Cougars from 2013 to 2017 before entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018.

Early Life and Background

Ekuale was born and raised in Pago Pago, American Samoa. He attended Nuʻuuli Vocational Technical High School in Tafuna, American Samoa, where he developed into one of the top college prospects from the territory. Most recruiting services rated him as the best available prospect from American Samoa in his class.
