One more new fragment added to Rajinikanth’s ‘Linga’ mess and especially to the woes of Linga producers as now a fresh petition has been filed against the film alleging the film had burnt a hole in state government’s pocket. R Singaravadivelan, the Managing Partner of Marina Pictures, Chennai reportedly filed a petition in Chennai court alleging that the producer Rockline Venkatesh got the exemption from the entertainment tax by using the influence of super star Rajinikanth.
The petitioner stated that the state government of Tamil Nadu provides the tax exemption for movies with titles meant for developing the Tamil language and culture but as a complete action against this norm and regulation, Rockline Venkatesh had got the exemption from payment of entertainment tax when their movie ‘Linga’ title is itself from the language Sanskrit.
He alleges that actor and producer caused a great loss to the government exchequer and no action was taken when he filed the petition before the Commissioner of Police. The petition will reportedly come for hearing on Monday.
