News rules for cops : People can file an appeal

If police personnel are unable to complete passport verification sought for people in 20 days, cannot provide a copy of a FIR on the same day a complaint is lodged. The cop could end up paying a penalty of Rs 5,000 or a Rs 250 daily fine if he or she does not release an impounded vehicle in three days despite the conclusion of formalities.
