Australian P.M Malcolm Turnbull praises Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for motivating the country at an admirable path of growth and advancement.
“Our bonds are strong and will be stronger as of this visit. Prime Minister Modi is leading this most remarkable nation on an extraordinary adventure of growth and progress. The achievements of India are an admiration for the world and we look forward to working even more closely,” he told the media in New Delhi during his ceremonial reception at the President House.
“Half a million Australians are from India. Both countries are bound together by a shared destiny,” Turnbull added.
Turnbull reached New Delhi on Sunday for a four-day visit. This is his 1st visit to India.
He is scheduled to attend delegation-level talks with Modi later in the day.
On Tuesday, Turnbull will attend Mumbai where he will attend several programs, including an interaction with key business leaders and an energy roundtable.
Cooperation in renewable energy, clean coal and biofuels will be high on agenda during his trip. A number of MoUs and agreements are also to be firmed up in the areas of security, sports, science, environment, and technology and health.
Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have had meetings on the sidelines of the G-20 in Antalya in 2015 and in Hangzhou in 2016.
