All 10 officials of the Border Security Force aboard a BSF aircraft that crashed in west Delhi’s Dwarka area after developing a technical snag were killed on Tuesday.
The 10 BSF technical officials who were on board the Ranchi-bound plane have been identified as RP Yadav, Rajesh Shivrain, BP Bhatt, D Kumar, SN Sharma, Ravindra Kr, Chote Lal, DP Chouhan, Sundar Singh and K Rawat.
The pilot informed air traffic controller of a technical snag after taking off at 9:45am from the city airport and was asked to return, but it crashed soon after.
Rescue officials said the plane crashed just before the boundary wall of the airport near a railway crossing and the pilot may have tried to avoid residential areas to avoid more casualties.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his cabinet colleagues and leaders from various political parties took to Twitter to offer their condolences to the families of those killed in the crash.
