Andhra Pradesh State Budget 2014

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, the Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh state, has presented the budget in the state assembly. The budget amounting Rs 1.11L has been approved by the state cabinet. This includes a Plan expenditure of Rs. 26,673 crore and non-Plan outlay of Rs. 85,151 crore, with revenue deficit of Rs.6,064 crore and a fiscal deficit of Rs.12,064 crore. The fiscal deficit works out to 2.3 percent and revenue deficit to 1.16 percent of GSDP. The highest allocation of Rs.12,595 crore was made for school education, followed by Rs.8,465 crore for irrigation and Rs.7,164 crore for energy. The government plans to develop 3,000 MW of wind and 2,000 MW of solar power in a phased manner.

Yanamala said that the TDP government will not restrict themselves to allocation of funds, but also would look into the true purpose of such allocations. He said that Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has recognised many problems during his Pada Yatra. He said that the backwardness of SCs/BCs would be overcome in a short duration. Through the process of decentralisation development would be achieved. New methods would be adopted in the matters of development, added Yanamala. The Finance Minister announced that the Government is committed for loan waiver and the government is in touch with the RBI. He said that the government is in the job for pooling the necessary funds.

  • Government is committed for digitalized Andhra Pradesh
  • 13 BC Study circles will come up for the benefit of BC students to fare well in competitive examinations
  • Five Shilparamas will come up in the State at a time. The upcoming are at Kakinada, Eluru, Vijayawada, Nellore and Anantapur
  • Tourisam circuits will be created at Srikakulam, Guntur
  • Perupalem beach resort will come in West Godavari
  • State Institute of Hotel Management will come up at Tirupati at a cost of Rs.12 crore

The Andhra Pradesh State Budget 2014 allocations are:

  • Minority Welfare Rs. 3,371 crore
  • Water irrigation Rs. 8,467 crore
  •  Rural Development Rs. 6094 crore
  •  For Law & Order Rs. 3,339 crore
  •  Energy sector Rs 7164 crore
  •  R & B Rs.2, 612 crore
  • Environment, forests, Science and Technology Rs. 418 crore
  • Higher education Rs .2,272 crore
  •  Intermediate education Rs. 812 crore
  •  School education Rs 12, 595 crore
  •  Health and family Welfare Rs 4,388 crore
  • Women and child welfare Rs. 1059 crore
  • Social welfare dept Rs. 2,657 crore
  • Tribal welfare Rs.1150 crore
  • BC welfare Rs. 3,130 crore
  • Minority welfare Rs .3.371 crore
  •  Welfare of the Handicapped Rs. 65 crore
  • Youth Services Rs.126 crores
  • Tourism and cultural sector Rs. 113 crore
  • House Constructions Rs.8,808 crore
