Bryce Christopher Young (born July 25, 2001) is an American professional football quarterback for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. Young starred at the University of Alabama, won major national player awards in 2021 including the Heisman Trophy, set Alabama’s single-game passing yards record with 559 yards, and was selected first overall in the 2023 NFL draft.
Early Life and Background
Bryce Christopher Young was born on July 25, 2001, at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, and grew up primarily in Pasadena, California. He is the only child of Craig Young, a mental health therapist, and Julie Young, a former special education teacher who played college soccer at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. His maternal grandfather was born in Mexico.
Young attended Cathedral High School in Los Angeles before transferring to Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana for his senior year.
