Jack Browning (born November 14, 2001) is an American professional football punter. He played college football for the Grossmont Griffons and San Diego State Aztecs and was also a placekicker in college. He has previously been a member of the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Early Life and Background

Jack Browning was born in Lakeside, California. He attended West Hills High School in Santee, California, where he earned two varsity letters competing in football and track and field. Browning received first-team all-league academic honors in football during his high school career.

Despite his high school achievements, Browning was a zero-star recruit and did not receive offers to play NCAA Division I football. He chose to continue his football career at Grossmont College, a community college near his hometown.

Path to American Football

At Grossmont College, Browning played as both a placekicker and punter. In his freshman year in 2019, he was named second-team all-conference after making four of six field goals, converting 14 of 16 extra points, and averaging 38.2 yards on 60 punts. The 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Browning transferred to San Diego State University as a walk-on. He earned a spot on the team and contributed as the main holder and special teams player. He scored a rushing touchdown on a fake field goal attempt that season, showcasing his versatility.

His performance earned him the Mountain West Conference Special Teams Player of the Year award and first-team All-Mountain West honors at punter. He set a San Diego State and Mountain West record with a 61-yard field goal and tied the school record with four field goals in a single game. Browning was a team captain, a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award, and earned second-team All-Mountain West honors.

Professional Career (2024–Present)

After going undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, Jack Browning signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent. He was released by the Bills in July 2024. Shortly after, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens in August but was waived later that month.

In October 2024, Browning joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad and was promoted to the active roster in late December. He was waived by the Buccaneers in March 2025.
