As a track athlete under coach Brendan Robinson, Mostert was a standout sprinter, hurdler, and jumper. He won the 2010 FHSAA 3A District 6 title in the 300-meter hurdles. At the 2011 FHSAA 3A Outdoor State Finals, he finished first in the 100 meters with a time of 10.68 seconds and placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 37.95 seconds. Early Career (2015-2016)

After going undrafted during the 2015 NFL Draft, Mostert signed as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles. He had an excellent preseason, accumulating 348 total yards from scrimmage (157 rushing and 191 receiving) and led the NFL in yards from the line of scrimmage during the preseason. Despite his strong performance, he was cut on September 4, 2015, and signed to the Eagles practice squad two days later. On September 14, 2015, the Miami Dolphins signed Mostert off the Eagles practice squad. He later played for the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns during his first NFL season.
