Stefon Marsean Diggs (born November 29, 1993) is an American professional football wide receiver for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Maryland Terrapins and was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL draft. Diggs became a full-time starter for the Vikings midway through his rookie year despite his late-round draft status. He became part of an effective receiving tandem alongside Adam Thielen, with his highlights including catching the 'Minneapolis Miracle' pass during the 2017–18 NFL playoffs. The following offseason, Diggs received a 5-year extension, playing two more seasons in Minnesota before being traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2020. Stefon Diggs was born in Gaithersburg, Maryland, on November 29, 1993. He attended Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he excelled as both a football player and sprinter on the track team. During his junior year, Diggs recorded 810 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns, earning runner-up for Gatorade Maryland Player of the Year. Diggs accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Maryland, where he played for the Terrapins from 2012 to 2014 under coach Randy Edsall. As a true freshman in 2012, Diggs played in 11 of Maryland’s 12 games and ranked second in the ACC and eighth nationally with 172.4 all-purpose yards per game. His 1,896 all-purpose yards were the second most in a single season in school history.
